I would like to see how the inscription will be laid out before it is ‘set in stone!’
Of course you would. Once we have a permit to fit the stone from the burial authorities we send you a selection of layouts to show how the wording could look on the stone for your approval. If you don’t like what you see then the layout / style can usually be changed until you are happy.
What about guarantees/insurance?
All our stonework is guaranteed for 10 years (subject to reasonable conditions) and in the case of fixing, each memorial comes with a certificate of conformity regarding the fixing and ground anchoring as appropriate. We offer very reasonable insurance cover from the market leader, Stoneguard.
Our local cemetery has been laying down numerous ‘unsafe’ stones, how will you stop this happening?
All our memorials are fixed to the NAMM code of working practice, using ground anchors where appropriate.
I’ve seen a stone I like but I can’t find it in your catalogue can you help me?
In almost every case the answer is yes! We can quote for most stones from any catalogue (AND generally delight you with the price). Alternatively you can send a photograph of an existing stone.
How soon after the burial can a stone be erected?
Generally it is wise to wait at least 6 months to allow the ground to settle unless there is a cemetery beam (long piece of concrete like a path onto which memorials are fixed). However this does not prevent you ordering within this time.
How long will it take for a stone to be delivered?
The normal time from order to fitting is around 12-16 weeks – please let us know if you have a specific date in mind when you would like the stone in place by.
What area do you cover?
We deliver and erect memorials throughout mainland England & Wales and on the Isle of Wight for £90 extra. There are no extra charges for distance. We can also arrange export to a large portion of the world where there is not an active local memorial trade.
